Lakeland boys to face Sandpoint in title match

SANDPOINT - Joab Logan shook off a potentially serious cranium injury and scored four goals to lead Sandpoint to a crisp, 5-1 win over Moscow on Monday during the 4A Region 1 boys soccer tournament opener at War Memorial Field.

With the win, Sandpoint moves on to face host Lakeland on Wednesday in the Region 1 championship match.

Lakeland won 2-1 in the first meeting, and 1-0 in the second meeting, and including last year's district championship game, Sandpoint has now lost three straight to the suddenly-formidable Hawks.

COEUR d'ALENE - Sara Ployhar finished with 13 assists in North Idaho Chrisitian's Mountain Christian League loss to Kootenai Thunder 25-23 25-21, 25-18 at Project CDA.

Sydney Lawson added seven kills, Liz Bookamer four aces for the Royals (6-6, 5-5 MCL), who travel to Pullman to face Pullman Christian Schoool tonght.
