| October 8, 2012 9:00 PM

COEUR d'ALENE - In-person absentee voting will be available starting Tuesday, at the County Elections office, 1808 N. Third Street.

The office is open 8 to 5 weekdays. Additional staff is ready to meet the expected high demand for in-person absentee voting.

Registered voters need to bring a photo ID. New residents, or those who've moved and wish to re-register, must bring a photo ID and proof of residency, such as a utility bill, with the current residence address listed and that is dated at least 30 days prior to their voting date.

Voters who have questions about proof of residency documents should call the Elections office, 446-1030.

Voters are reminded that Kootenai County is mailing absentee ballots with return postage pre-paid. The Clerk's division hopes to minimize long waits at the polls on Election Day.

The elections office will also be open Oct. 20 and Oct. 27, 9 to 3.

Sample ballots are available online at the County's website or by clicking here:
