PYP: There goes more freedom
So the local school Imams have spoken and have taken our children one step closer to the Dark Ages by eliminating one more advanced learning opportunity from our schools. I don’t know who to blame, the fanatics (and I mean fanatics as in Taliban and al-Qaida) that have been elected to places of authority or the voters who don’t understand every time someone preaches family values they mean their misguided values and generally want to control the way you are allowed to think and what you are allowed to do.
These are the same people who might not want their children to read Harry Potter so they try to make sure no one reads Harry Potter. Their kids can’t compete with children who have been taught to think for themselves so no one will be taught to think. Maybe, just maybe, people will begin to understand when these fanatics show up to paint a red letter on your forehead because you had a not-allowed-thought.
It continues to amaze me how in the land of the free where everyone demands that their own freedoms are protected, they are so willing to take those same freedoms from everyone else. We should all hang our heads in shame for letting these dictators get the power they now have.
