PYP: Looking forward to May

| October 6, 2012 9:15 PM

Regarding the decision about PYP: What an incredible abuse of power and disregard for the people. A school board who has been together as a complete group for only one month makes a decision to eliminate a program without considering necessary objective data or following democratic procedures. They even disregarded our superintendent’s advice.

So they took the bully route and showed their true colors. It’s more than disappointment about the elimination of PYP that I feel. It’s betrayal from people who are supposed to uphold the principles of democracy. Now I have zero confidence or trust in them to make sound, unbiased decisions about anything. I don’t believe a word they say and their pretense of listening and considering information is shameful.

I truly thought they would take more time and be fair. I even told people who were insisting they had already made up their minds that it wasn’t true… Two school board members had specifically told a group of parents and teachers that it was premature to bring it to a vote. They deceived us. I won’t mention their names.

American values went out the window with their hasty decision. How hypocritical can you get? They say PYP is so anti-American. Well let me assure you, PYP would never support what occurred at that meeting. PYP would support a reasoned, objective, democratic PROCESS that takes in all perspectives and objective data before making a decision. If that’s un-American, then I’ve missed something.

BE SURE TO VOTE in MAY!
