Ladies Day Out at Cabela's on Saturday

POST FALLS - There will be a free Ladies Day Out educational event at Cabela's from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

There is no need to pre-register.

"It's the perfect opportunity for women to learn something new in an environment that they can feel comfortable in," said Pete Marion, Cabela's spokesman and event organizer.

The first 75 attendees will receive a free bag of goodies. There will also be product samples and store discounts.

The schedule includes:

* Handguns and Heels: An Introduction to Personal Firearms, 10 a.m.;

* The Home and Cabin General Store Experience, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.;

* What's in the Can Cooker, 11 a.m.;

* Put the Perfect Edge on Your Knife, noon;

* Fly Casting, 1 p.m.

* Ladies Archery, 2 p.m.

Ladies' interest in the outdoors is on the rise. More than 5 million participate in shooting sports, an increase of 46.5 percent since 2001, according to the National Shooting Sports Association.
