Travis Blackley allowed one run over six innings, helping the Oakland Athletics move into a first-place tie in the AL West with visiting Texas and set up a one-game showdown for the division title with a 3-1 victory over the Rangers on Tuesday night.
Yankees 4, Red Sox 3, 12 inn.: Raul Ibanez tied it with a homer in the ninth, then had an RBI single in the 12th, helping New York remain a game up on Baltimore in the AL East with one game to go by beating visiting Boston.
If the teams end up even after today's games, they'll play a tiebreaker Thursday in Baltimore.
Orioles 1, Rays 0: At St. Petersburg, Fla., Chris Davis homered for the sixth straight game and Baltimore beat Tampa Bay.
Royals 4, Tigers 2: Miguel Cabrera had two hits and drove in two runs before leaving in the fifth, but host Kansas City rallied past AL Central champion Detroit.
With one game remaining in the regular season, Cabrera leads the American League in all three Triple Crown categories.

The Cardinals clinched a wild card berth after the Dodgers lost to San Francisco.
Marlins 4, Mets 3, 11 inn.: Donovan Solano's RBI single in the 11th lifted Miami past visiting New York.
The Marlins' Adam Greenberg struck out on three pitches against R.A. Dickey when he batted for the first time in seven years in the sixth inning. Greenberg signed a one-day contract before the game, his first since he was beaned in his major league debut in 2005.
