TAX HELP: Available thanks to sponsors

It certainly does take a village. It is only because of the generosity of local business partners, community organizations and many unselfish volunteers, that we can offer FREE federal and state income tax preparation to residents of North Idaho.

Our service is only possible due to our valuable community partners. A huge thanks to The Lake City Center (who has also paid our mall space utilities for years) for donating tax preparation space as has the Silver Lake Mall, Rathdrum Senior Center, Athol Community Center and Post Falls Senior Center. Without their generously 'housing' our organization, and in some cases making taxpayer appointments for three to four months each winter, we would never have been able to accomplish what we do.

We cannot express how grateful we are that Frontier Communications, has for the 2nd year in a row, donated phone lines to facilitate our fax machines and fulfill our communication needs. We owe a BIG THANK YOU to Allegra Print and Imaging for donating posters and flyers. We also appreciate the many businesses that post our flyers on public bulletin boards. AARP Foundation provides all our hardware and printing supplies. We thank the IRS for providing tax software, our training and a grant to AARP covering many of their Tax-Aide costs.

Our 90-plus volunteers whom tirelessly give hours AND monetary donations to support our efforts are our lifeblood. For those of you juggling classes at NIC, working full time, fully or partially retired, new or returning volunteers, we appreciate and thank each and every one of you.

AARP-Tax-Aide, an AARP Foundation program, is the nation's largest volunteer-run income tax preparation and assistance service. It is available free to taxpayers with low to moderate income, with special attention given to those aged 60 and older.
