ROOSTERS: Being targeted unfairly

| May 25, 2012 9:00 PM

It saddens me that I have to get rid of a pet rooster because the City Council has decided to ban roosters in the city limits because of one or two complaints per year about them. I’m sure they get more complaints for loud barking dogs per year, but are they going to ban them? I doubt it.

I can’t even go in my backyard without my neighbor’s dogs barking at me through the fence, and that’s not just one neighbor, but several neighbors. And it’s all the time, every time my family goes outside.

Is the next step to ban all the wild birds because they start chirping early in the morning before sunup also? I don’t think the whole city should suffer because one or two complaints get filed each year.
