Carl William Tilden, 88

| May 17, 2012 10:00 PM

Our beloved, Carl William Tilden made his final journey from this world, embraced peacefully in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Carl was born to Lucille and Carl Tilden on Dec. 24, 1923, in Greeley Colo. He was an extremely ambitious, generous and happy person. He was active in sea scouts as a boy growing up in California. He enlisted into the Coast Guard and served our country for nearly four years.

Following his service he created a successful career as executive in sales and engineering and pioneering the development of concrete mixers. He was an inspiring leader to many. As Samuel Johnson said, “the business of the wise man is to be happy.”

In his retirement to Coeur d’Alene he enjoyed many hours of fishing and boating. Our dad made his family happy, mainly at the sea with him at the helm. We have a lifetime of salty good times to savor.

Carl is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 66 years, Arleen Tilden of Coeur d’Alene; sons, Michael and Daniel (Peggy); daughters, Peggy (Paul) and Patty (Matt); 12 grandkids and four great-grandkids.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Penny.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel, has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements. Please visit Carl’s online memorial and sign his guest book atwww.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
