Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty receives honor

Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty was recently recognized as the No. 1 office in closed adjusted gross income for the state of Idaho for 2011. The company was also named as a Coldwell Banker President's Award of Honor winner. Both honors were announced this April at the 2011 Coldwell Banker Generation Blue Conference in New Orleans.

"These recognitions are a testament to the determination and energy of our sales people. They are the ones who work hard each and every day assuring that our customers and clients are getting the quality of representation they deserve," said Gary Schneidmiller, broker/owner of the Coeur d'Alene based company.

This is the 18th consecutive year that Schneidmiller Realty has earned the top spot in the state of Idaho.

"We are pleased to be recognized as a company, but more excited for our sales team. Our ownership, management and staff do not compete with our sales people for sales and listings, so this is clearly a compliment to their personal efforts," added Mark Johnson, general manager.

The President's Award of Honor is presented only to the top Coldwell Banker companies in the United States.

"This has been a challenging time, but through it all our associates are listing and selling properties every day. It is amazing that a small North Idaho based brokerage can continue to successfully compete for these levels of recognition in a world of very large and productive real estate firms, mostly located in major metropolitan markets," Johnson said.

Dutch Bros. Coffee ranked highest in customer satisfaction report

Dutch Bros. Coffee, a fun-loving and spirited drive-through coffee company with nearly 180 locations across the West Coast, has announced that J.D. Power and Associates ranked the company highest in customer satisfaction compared to other coffeecompanies in its 2012 Specialty Coffee Retailer Satisfaction Report.

"From the beginning our mission has been to serve our customers and community with love and respect - all while keeping it fun," said Travis Boersma, president and co-founder of Dutch Bros. Coffee. "This recognition is a demonstration of that philosophy, and shows how much our amazing employees truly care about the people we serve."

Dutch Bros. has two drive-through operations in Coeur d'Alene.

The report was based on responses from more than 1,300 customers regarding their purchase of any product or beverage from any specialty coffee retailer.

The inaugural report found that a specialty coffee retailer's staff is more than twice as important to customers compared with the importance for the other factors that measure satisfaction. Customer service attributes such as courtesy, knowledge of merchandise, speed of checkout and availability contribute to the overall staff factor.

NIC security officer certified as Rape Aggression Defense instructor

North Idaho College Security Officer Kelly Hopkins was certified as a Rape Aggression Defense system instructor recently.

Hopkins trained for the certification test at Central Washington University. The R.A.D. system sets the national standard for self-defense education as a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women. R.A.D. is not a martial arts program. It is a comprehensive, women-only course that teaches awareness, prevention, risk-reduction and risk-avoidance, while giving the basics of hands-on defense training.
