Griner rests, Baylor flattens UCSB

As expected, UC Santa Barbara was routed Sunday by top-seeded Baylor, losing 81-40 in the Des Moines Regional in Bowling Green, Ohio. But the Gauchos held their heads high. Tilleman banged with Lady Bears star Brittney Griner for much of the game and seemed to enjoy herself.

Griner scored 14 points in only 22 minutes. Brooklyn Pope scored 13 points for the Lady Bears and Destiny Williams added 12. Odyssey Sims contributed 10.

Baylor (35-0) has not lost since falling in the quarterfinals of last year's NCAA tournament.

Emilie Johnson scored 10 points for UCSB (17-16).

Florida 70, Ohio State 65: Jennifer George had 16 points and six rebounds and Bartley added 15 points to lead ninth-seeded Florida (20-12) over eighth-seeded Ohio State (25-7) in Bowling Green, Ohio.

The Gators scored the game's first nine points and held on in front of a crowd packed with fans of the in-state Buckeyes.

Geogetown 61, Fresno St. 56: At Chapel Hill, N.C., Tia Magee scored 17 points and Georgetown (23-8) held on to beat Fresno State (23-6).

Georgia Tech 76, Sacred Heart 50: At Chapel HIll, N.C., freshman guard Sydney Wallace scored a season-high 28 points to lead Georgia Tech (25-8) past Sacred Heart (27-6).

Wallace finished 11 of 13 and hit six 3-pointers while Sasha Goodlett added 12 points and 11 rebounds. They helped Georgia Tech set the school's single-season wins record and avoid being upset in the first round for the second time in three years

Delaware 73, UALR 42: Elena Delle Donne had 39 points and 11 rebounds to lift third-seeded Delaware (31-1) over Arkansas-Little Rock (20-13) in Little Rock, Ark.

Kansas 57, Nebraska 49: At Little Rock, Ark., Angel Goodrich scored 20 points to lead 11th-seeded Kansas (20-12) over former Big 12 rival and sixth-seeded Nebraska (24-9).

St. John's 69, Creighton 67: Nadirah McKenith scored on a coast-to-coast layup with 0.1 seconds left, lifting third-seeded St. John's (23-9) over Creighton (20-13) in Norman, Okla.

After Carli Tritz hit two free throws to tie it with 5.4 seconds left, McKenith took an inbounds pass and zoomed up the left sideline and into the lane before lofting a high-arcing shot that splashed in for the game-winner.

Oklahoma 88, Michigan 67: At Norman, Okla., Aaryn Ellenberg scored 21 of her 28 points in the second half, Whitney Hand added 12 points and 10 rebounds and Oklahoma (21-12) defeated Michigan (20-12).

Playing on their home court, the Sooners took control with an early 14-4 run and never trailed.

Vanderbilt 60, Middle Tennessee 46: Jasmine Lister scored 19 points and led seventh-seeded Vanderbilt (23-9) past the Blue Raiders (26-7) in Nashville, Tenn.

Duke 82, Samford 47: At Nashville, Tenn., Tricia Liston scored 22 points and second-seeded Duke (25-5) started strong and beat 15th-seeded Samford (20-13).

California 84, Iowa 74: At South Bend, Ind., Layshia Clarendon scored 16 points and California (25-9) nearly lost a big lead before hanging on to beat Iowa (19-12).

Notre Dame 74, Liberty 43: At South Bend, Ind., Kayla McBride scored 15 points and Notre Dame (31-3) opened the game with an 11-0 run to rout Liberty (24-9).

The Irish will face No. 8 seed California (25-9) on Tuesday at the Purcell Pavilion, where Notre Dame is 16-1 this season.

Marist 76, Georgia 70: Corielle Yarde scored 21 points, Brandy Gang had 18 and Marist (26-7) upset fourth-seeded Georgia (22-9) in Tallahassee, Fla.

St. Bonaventure 72, Florida Gulf Coast 65, OT: Megan Van Tatenhove scored 18 points, Armelia Horton had 17 and fifth-seeded St. Bonaventure (30-3) rallied to beat 12th-seeded Florida Gulf Coast (29-3) in overtime in Tallahassee, Fla., snapping the Eagles' 21-game winning streak.

Penn State 85, UTEP 77: Maggie Lucas scored 23 points and fourth-seeded Penn State (25-6) defeated UTEP (29-4) in Baton Rouge, La.

LSU 64, San Diego State 56: At Baton Rouge, La., LaSondra Barrett led the Tigers (25-7) with 17 points, 10 rebounds and three assists in a win over the Aztecs (23-10).
