Jan Colleen (Clark) Pearson died suddenly from a stoke on Feb. 28, 2012, in Coeur d’Alene.

A longtime resident of Coeur d’Alene, Jan was known for her natural musical ability and was passionate about singing and playing the piano.

Jan was born Feb. 20, 1950, in Lancaster, Ohio, to Richard and Colleen Clark. Raised in Ohio and California, she also lived in Hawaii and Alaska before settling in Coeur d’Alene. Known as a free-spirit and “hippie,” Jan was a warm and compassionate soul. She truly enjoyed serving and getting to know her customers and coworkers as a waitress at G.W. Hunters. Previously she served at Cricket’s and Eduardo’s. In recent years, Jan had begun to pursue a degree in music at North Idaho College. Jan enjoyed attending church and walking her dogs.

Family was the cornerstone of Jan’s life and she loved to spend time with her grandchildren, Corbin and Owen Markham, and Stella Eakin. Jan is also survived by daughter and honorary son-in-law, Elizabeth (Ralston) Markham and Derek Eakin of Coeur d’Alene; son Sam Perez of Spokane; significant other Craig Pearson of Coeur d’Alene; sister and brother-in-law, Jude and Tim Warnisher of Los Osos, Calif.; sister Jill Clark of Lake Tahoe, Nev.; and mother Colleen Clark of Arizona. She will be missed by her dogs, Starla and Ollie, and cat Kitty Girl.

Jan was preceded in death by her son, Josh Ralston and brother Jimmy Clark. Her father, Richard Clark, passed away in March 2012.

Donations can be sent to Elizabeth Markham, 506 S. 15th St., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814.

A memorial service will be held from 3-5 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2012, at the Gateway Church, 1165 Ironwood Drive, Coeur d’Alene. A celebration of her life and “jam session” will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, March 23, 2012, at the Eagles Ballroom, 209 Sherman, Coeur d’Alene.
