RAILS: Gone - and shortsighted

It’s one thing to rip up the railroad tracks along Northwest Boulevard because they not currently required, but it’s another thing entirely to abandon the right-of-way and allow construction on that ground.
The time will soon come, probably sooner than we care to imagine, when it makes enormous economic and ecological sense to operate a rail-link between Spokane and Coeur d’Alene (again). CDA should be doing everything in its power to preserve that right-of-way.
If our city planners would care to take a look at what is happening all over Europe, they might understand my point.
