Colorado tips 'Zona for Pac-12 title, NCAA berth

Freshman Spencer Dinwiddie scored 14 points, Carlon Brown added 13 and Pac-12 newcomer Colorado upset Arizona 53-51 on Saturday at Los Angeles to win the league's tournament championship and earn the school's first NCAA tournament bid since 2003.

The Buffaloes (23-11) became the first No. 6 seed to win the tournament title since Southern California in 2009 by winning four games in four days, the first time Colorado has done that in the program's 111-year history. The Buffs, who left the Big 12, were playing in their first tourney final since 1990, when they lost to Oklahoma for the Big Eight championship.

Kyle Fogg scored 14 points, but his off-balance 3-pointer to win missed at the buzzer for fourth-seeded Arizona (23-11).

New Mexico State 82, Louisiana Tech 57: At Las Vegas, Wendell McKines had 27 points and 14 rebounds to lead New Mexico State (26-9) past Louisiana Tech (18-16) in the Western Athletic Conference tournament title game.

No. 1 Kentucky 74, No. 22 Florida 71: At New Orleans, Anthony Davis had 15 points and 12 rebounds, and Kentucky held off Florida (23-10) in the semifinals of the Southeastern Conference tournament.

The Wildcats (32-1) play Vanderbilt, which beat Mississippi 65-53, in today's title game.

No. 4 North Carolina 69, North Carolina State 67: At Atlanta, Kendall Marshall banked in a shot with 10.2 seconds remaining and the Tar Heels (29-4) came up with a pair of defensive stops to edge N.C. State (22-12) in the semifinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament.

North Carolina plays Florida State in today's title game.

No. 5 Missouri 90, Baylor 75: At Kansas City, Mo., Kim English capped a phenomenal conference tournament with 19 points, Phil Pressey added 15 points and eight assists and the Tigers beat Baylor (27-7) to win their second Big 12 championship in the past four years.

The Tigers (30-4), who led from start to finish, will head off to the Southeastern Conference next year savoring a title in coach Frank Haith's first season in charge.

No. 17 Florida State 62, No. 6 Duke 59: At Atlanta, Michael Snaer scored 16 points, including a 3-pointer with 3:27 reamaining that gave the Seminoles the lead for good, and Florida State (23-9) held off Duke (27-6) in the ACC tournament semifinals.

No. 7 Ohio State 77, No. 10 Michigan 55: At Indianapolis, Jared Sullinger scored 24 points to help Ohio State (27-6) defeat Michigan (24-9) in the Big Ten tournament semifinals.

The Buckeyes play Michigan State in today's title game.

No. 8 Michigan State 65, No. 14 Wisconsin 52: At Indianapolis, Draymond Green scored 14 points and had 16 rebounds, and Austin Thornton scored all 12 of his points on 3-pointers as the two determined seniors led Michigan State (26-7) past Wisconsin (24-9) and into today's Big Ten tourney title game.

New Mexico 68, No. 18 San Diego State 59: At Las Vegas, Tony Snell made four 3-pointers in the first half and finished with 14 points, and Drew Gordon had 12 points and 12 rebounds as New Mexico (27-6) overpowered top-seeded San Diego State (26-7) to win the Mountain West Conference tournament championship.

Louisville 50, Cincinnati 44: At New York, Chris Smith scored 15 points and Louisville (26-9) withstood a closing run by Cincinnati (24-10) for a victory that gave the Cardinals their second Big East tournament championship.

Long Beach State 77, UC Santa Barbara 64: At Anaheim, Calif., Casper Ware scored 33 points and Long Beach State (25-8) - coached by former Gonzaga coach Dan Monson - beat UC Santa Barbara (20-10) in the Big West Conference tournament title game.
