Poker event to help LCHS senior grad night

The Lake City High School Senior Grad Night Parent committee is having a Texas Hold 'Em fundraiser poker tournament at 7 tonight at the Silver Lake Motel Convention and Banquet Center, 6160 Sunshine St.

There is a $25 donation buy-in and the tickets are available at the door. Winners will receive prizes. All proceeds will benefit the 2012 LCHS Senior Class Drug Free Party on graduation night.

Participants must be at least 21. There will be snacks provided and a no-host bar.

Kids Carnival to benefit art program

Kids' Carnival, a family event presented by St. Vincent de Paul's Art on the Edge program, is scheduled Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2129 Main St., Riverstone.

Kids will have the chance to participate in various art mediums including painting, fabric art, fused glass, pottery and sculpture.

Local theater and dance groups will perform throughout the day.

Admission is $5 per person.

Workshop for Alzheimer's caregivers

The Idaho Commission on Aging is sponsoring free online workshops for those caring for people with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia.

The workshops are designed to help caregivers enhance their skills, improve their own emotional well-being and personal health.
