Boise State softball

Work, a junior from Lake City High, was a recipient of the 2011-12 Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete Award. Work, who has a 3.55 grade point average in environmental studies, appeared in 20 games in the circle, going 6-3 with three saves and a 3.96 ERA over 74.1 innings. She also played third base in six games for the Broncos.

Johnson, an outfielder from Lake City High and Washington State, entered Tuesday batting .300 for the Owlz (1-7), a rookie league team of the Los Angeles Angels that plays in the Pioneer League. He has six hits in 20 at-bats, with three RBIs and a stolen base.

Alex Capaul

Capaul, a pitcher from Lake City High, won the home opener for the Bears (6-5 through Monday) on June 20 after allowing one earned run in 5 2/3 innings, striking out three. Capaul improved his ERA to 3.38.

Shea Vucinich

Vucinich, an infielder from Coeur d'Alene and Washington State, went 2 for 4 with two runs scored for the Manatees (32-39) in a 7-1 win against Dunedin on June 21 in Viera, Fla.. He is batting .273 (9 for 33) in his last 10 games, with two doubles and five walks.

J.J. Turbin

Turbin, an outfielder from Coeur d'Alene, is hitting .378 (14 of 37) with a double and four RBIs. Turbin is sixth in hitting in the Alaskan Baseball League for the Chinooks (5-3), an amateur collegiate summer league based in Anchorage.
