Fake $20s dealt at bikini bar

COEUR d'ALENE - Police said seven fake $20 bills have been passed at the Rendezvous bikini bar in downtown Coeur d'Alene.

The club, located at 216 E. Coeur d'Alene Ave., received the bills Sunday and Monday, a police report said.

A bartender described a possible suspect in the bad bills incidents as a petite white female about 5 feet 4 inches tall.

"She had dirty blonde straight hair in a ponytail and was wearing a hoodie," according to the report.

The manager of the bar told police he had heard other nearby nightclubs had also received some fake $20s.

He'd been told the other clubs also had encounters with the same suspect. He said Ironhorse Bar and Grill, Splash nightclub, and The Corner Bar were potentially victims of the counterfeit cash.

According to the report, the bills passed at Rendezvous had questionable texture, size, and thickness of the borders. The officer said the embossment on the bills also was incorrect.
