Lums sweep Lewis-Clark

COEUR d'ALENE - Down 7-3 to the Twins, Pete Hoffman hit a bases-clearing double in the sixth inning of the second game to spark a 7-run rally and the Coeur d'Alene Lumbermen swept a pair from Lewis-Clark in AA North Idaho League action on Monday at McEuen Field.

Colin Comack's 2-run home run in the first inning of Game 1 highlighted Coeur d'Alene's 6-1 win. Chad Nyquist and brother Nick each had RBI singles in the inning as the Lums took a 3-0 lead.

Jake Gonzalas pitched into the fourth, Suraj Kedia threw two frames of relief, and Comack finished the game for Coeur d'Alene.

In the second game, Nick Nyquist went 3 for 4, Chad Nyquist went 2-3, Comack had a hit in all three of his at bats, and Jesse O'Hagan went 2 for 4 in the 12-7 win.

Grant Curtis started the game on the hill for Coeur d'Alene, followed by Mark Nettleman and Hoffman closed the game for the Lums (9-1, 3-0 N. I. League), who start play in the Nampa Buffalo Wings tourney on Thursday in Nampa.
