CONGRESS: Please answer questions

| June 6, 2012 9:15 PM

I’m asking the Coeur d’Alene Press to interview our current congressmen and anyone running for Congress in the fall. I want The Press to ask some important questions so we may be informed voters.

Mr. Adler recently spoke at the Coeur d’Alene library about the Constitution and how to hold our representatives accountable. The newspapers share our responsibility in keeping our government accountable. Sometimes hard questions need to be answered. Many people are frustrated over the gridlock in Congress and their inability to accomplish anything important. There is too much grandstanding.

Please ask our representatives the following questions: What specifically will they do about jobs, the deficit and political corruption? How do they see America’s role in the world? Do they think it’s productive to give loyalty to anything other than the Constitution?

Do they support the “No Labels” movement which is an attempt to get Congress to work together for the good of the country? If not, why not?

What is the status of the bill to end “insider trading” by Congressmen? Do they support this bill? If not, why not? Is it fair for Congress to make laws for everyone else that excludes or exempts them?

I hope the Coeur d’Alene Press will follow up and get us this badly needed information prior to the fall election. I thank you in advance.
