PASCO, Wash. - Spokane's Patrick Cantwell scored the go-ahead run on an error in the ninth inning as the Indians beat the Tri-City Dust Devils 3-2 in Northwest League play on Tuesday night in front of 1,669 at Gesa Stadium.

Spokane, in the first game of the second half of league play, opened the scoring in the first inning as former Gonzaga standout Royce Bolinger doubled to score Gabriel Roa for a 1-0 lead.

Joe Maloney doubled with one out in the second to score Barrett Serrato and give Spokane a 2-0 lead.

Tri-City tied it at 2 in the bottom of the third as Francisco Sosa doubled to center field to score Miguel De Leon and former Washington State outfielder Derek Jones.

Spokane nearly broke the tie in the eighth as Cam Schiller hit a triple to right field, but he was stranded on a groundout to the pitcher and back-to-back strikeouts by Tri-City hurler Ryan Arrowood.

Yafistel Roja singled leading off the bottom of the ninth for Tri-City, but was picked off by Spokane pitcher Josh McElwee, who struck out Jarod Berggren to end the game.

The teams continue their three-game series tonight at 7:15.
