Grace Evelyn Guy, 91

Grace Evelyn Guy, 91, passed into eternal life on July 10, 2012, of natural causes at home surrounded by her loving family. Evelyn was born March 26, 1921, in Coeur d’Alene to Alva and Grace Jenks.

She was the oldest of three children followed by her brothers, Walter and Robert Jenks. She graduated from high school and attended business college. She worked as a secretary for the WPA when she met the love of her life, Arnold Guy, in 1939. They were married just short of 50 years at his passing.

She was a homemaker and raised three boys, Jim, Bill and Larry. They lived the first years in Coeur d’Alene, then moved to the family farm in Post Falls in 1956. She lived there untill her passing. She bowled at Lake City Lanes and loved playing cards with their good friends, Bob and Mary Smalley. She loved music and taught herself to play the piano and organ. She loved to sit on her front porch and listen to the birds and smell the flowers.

She is leaving behind her sons, Jim (Linda), Bill and Larry (Diane); 12 grandchildren, Shane and Scott Guy, Michael Kapfer, Melissa and Tim Guy, Christy Bauer, Rick and Penny Allen, Janet Cook, Wendy McGill, Trisha Johnson, Steve Guy and their families. She had 28 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; her parents and two brothers.
