Ems edge Indians in 10

SPOKANE - Ronnie Richardson doubled to score River Stevens with one out in the 10th inning as the Eugene Emeralds beat the Spokane Indians 4-2 in Northwest League baseball action Wednesday night in front of 4,625 at Avista Stadium.

Spokane (8-19) pitcher C.J. Edwards, who joined the team last week from the rookie level Arizona League Rangers in Surprise, no-hit the Emeralds (15-11) through four innings.

Alberth Martinez singled with nobody out for Eugene in the fifth for the team's first hit and Corey Adamson singled to give the Emeralds a 1-0 lead.

With one out in the bottom of the inning, Saquan Johnson hit a two-run homer to give a Spokane a 2-1 lead before the Emeralds tied the score in the ninth on a sacrifice fly by Dane Phillips to score Maxx Tissenbaum.

Eugene starter Juan Marcano held the Indians to two hits his first four innings.
