EDITORIAL: The rationale for rules
You guys SERIOUSLY crack me up.
In an editorial in Sunday’s edition entitled, “Little Violin, Big Heart” you open with this statement:
“Rules are rules, and everybody must abide by them. Make an exception and you’re opening the door to anarchy.”
This country is all about making exceptions to rules. That’s the way the ruling class works. One set for the rulers, another for everyone else. Obamacare has multiple exceptions to favored endeavors ranging from restaurants to manufacturing concerns. The New York Times reported that there is “Clean Dirty vs. Dirty Dirty” and if the corruption is systemic, it is easier to look the other way.
Then there is the biggie. In the local district courts, there appears to be a banking exception to every rule in the Idaho Rules of Civil Procedure. The courts allow the banks to bend any rule they wish turning their back on their own precedent and the precedent set by the U.S. Supreme Court. It is so bad, a local district judge actually stated in a recent ruling that U.S. Supreme Court decisions have no bearing upon him.
“Rules are rules, and everybody must abide by them. Make an exception and you’re opening the door to anarchy.” So how is that working for you? Our country is gutted, Kootenai County has the highest unemployment rate in the state and worldwide economic chaos is about to rain down upon us.
Thanks for a large belly laugh so early in the morning. It’s better than a cup of strong coffee.
