LeFavour says Idaho teachers still support her

| July 11, 2012 11:47 AM

Less than a week after the Idaho Education Association's Political Action Committee endorsed Republican Rep. Mike Simpson's re-election bid, Democratic challenger Nicole LeFavour trumpeted what she called "an outpouring of support from teachers around the state."

"As a teacher, I share the disappointment in the IEA’s decision, but know we all have a common issue to unite around this fall," wrote LeFavour, who pointed to her agreement with the teacher's union in opposition to new education reforms, crafted by Idaho Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Luna. "I deeply appreciate the important work the IEA is doing to ensure Idahoans vote no on Propositions 1, 2 and 3 on Nov. 6.”
