Hayden, Post Falls to play for Juniors title

* JUNIORS (age 13-14)

At Bret James Memorial Field, Post Falls

Hayden 13, Lakeland 1, 5 inn.: Dylan Shaffer, Collin Richards and Josh McGlathery each drove in two runs for Hayden, which advanced to the best-of-3 championship round starting Tuesday. Lakeland was eliminated.

Post Falls 5, Sandpoint 3: Drew Harris, Jared Porter, Dalton Lozier and Max McCullough combined to hold Sandpoint to three hits. Zack Hillman went 2 for 3 for Post Falls, which advanced to face Hayden in the championship round starting Tuesday. Sandpoint was eliminated.

Hayden and Post Falls will play Monday to wrap up round-robin play, then square off Tuesday, Wednesday and, if necessary, Thursday, to determine the district champion. The winner will advance to the best-of-3 state playoffs starting July 20 at Bret James Memorial Field vs. the champion from District 2 (Boise area).

* AGE 9-10

At Canfield Sports Complex

Coeur d'Alene 14, Post Falls Black 4: Maysen Whittaker hit a pair of doubles and Colt Rowley tripled for the winners, who advanced to the championship round today vs. the Post Falls Orange at 9:30 a.m. at Lions Field in Rathdrum.

Lewiston Purple 12, Lewiston White 2: Garrett Creviston pitched a complete game as the Purple move on to the championship round against Hayden Black today at 9:30 a.m. at Canfield.

At Lions Field, Rathdrum

Post Falls Orange 18, Hayden Black 0: Both teams advance to the championship round, which begins today.

* AGE 10-11

Lewiston 3, Sandpoint 1: Blaise Stottlemyre pitched a complete game and hit a triple for the winners, who advance to the championship round today vs. Post Falls White at noon at Lions Field.

Coeur d'Alene 17, Post Falls Gray 1: Cody Davenport and Brendon Wells each doubled for Coeur d'Alene, which advances to the championship round today vs. Hayden at noon at Canfield.

* MAJORS (age 11-12)

Coeur d'Alene 11, Sandpoint 1: Kyle Manzardo tripled and Anton Watson doubled for Coeur d'Alene, which advances to the championship round today vs. Hayden at 2:30 p.m. at Canfield.

In the other championship round game, Post Falls plays Lewiston at 2:30 p.m. at Lions Field.
