Powered parachute crash injures two
POST FALLS — Two men were injured Sunday when a powered parachute crashed while attempting to take off from a Post Falls church parking lot.
The incident, reported at 7:54 p.m., occurred at Faith Ministries church on 16th Avenue. The Kootenai County Sheriff's Department reports the parachute crashed into an unoccupied school bus owned by the church.
Passenger Collin Williams, 18, Post Falls, was transported to Kootenai Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The operator, David Endsley, 50, Redmond, Ore., was treated and released at the scene with minor injuries.
A powered parachute is a motorized parachute with wheels.
KCSD Maj. Ben Wolfinger told The Press his department is researching whether a license was required to pilot the craft.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. An investigation continues.
