Shock sign

pass rusher from SMU

SPOKANE - The Spokane Shock added a pass rusher with the signing of Southern Methodist defensive lineman/linebacker Youri Yenga.

At 6-foot-1 240 pounds, Yenga's athleticism and pass rush skills caught the attention of the Atlanta Falcons, where he signed as a free agent in 2011.

The two-time all-Conference USA selection made an impact at numerous positions for SMU, primarily at defensive end and linebacker. During his four-year career as a Mustang, Yenga collected 139 tackles with 13 sacks and added nine pass break-ups with seven forced fumbles.

Spokane opens the 2012 season on March 12 at home vs. the Iowa Barnstormers.
