Mom seeks son's Halloween costume

| January 13, 2012 5:03 PM

It was Conner Langford's favorite Halloween costume.

The costume transformed the 8-year-old into a bag of french fries, his smiling face peeking out from the top of one of the crisp potato sticks, in his hand a ketchup packet that served as a place to hold the treats he collected.

It was sold at a garage sale in Coeur d'Alene in July 2010, ten months before the boy's death. He suffered from a rare form of epilepsy and endured frequent seizures.

Paula Merk, a friend of the Hayden boy's mom, Natalie, said Conner's mother "would give anything to get it back."

"As a mother, I cannot begin to imagine the pain and agony of the loss she is experiencing," Merk said.

Merk is making a plea on behalf of Natalie.

She is asking whomever purchased the costume to return it.

If the french fry suit is sitting on a shelf or in a closet in your home, and you'd like to give it back, Merk hopes to hear from you.

Give her a ring. It will help heal a mother's broken heart, a little.
