HEROES: Welcome home with parade

Now that our troops have been withdrawn from Iraq, it would be appropriate for a welcome-home parade down Sherman Avenue in Coeur d'Alene to honor our brave heroes home. Thanking all of the National Guard, Army and all service members who served in Iraq and Afghanistan would be very appropriate. Marching military units, military bands and a fly over would be great followed by a concert and barbecue in the park.

The Chamber of Commerce and the cities of Coeur d'Alene, Hayden and Dalton Gardens could sponsor the event.

Holding the parade this spring when the weather is nice would be ideal.

What do you think? Isn't it time we said thanks to our military and veterans for a job well done.
