LABRADOR: Not best use of time

Our U.S. Congressman, Raul Labrador, recently issued a press release showing his presentation of a check for $300,000 of unspent funds that he is giving back to the government to ease the national debt. I wonder if he is aware that 1) $300,000 is about 0.00000196 percent of the national debt, 2) the Treasury department is planning to issue ever-increasing amounts of gross debt, up to $26.3 trillion by 2021 (ref. 2012 Federal budget, Summary Tables, page 203), and 3) giving the government money is like handing a bag of weed to a drug addict. It's gone so fast, no one remembers where it went!
Surely there is a better way for him to spend his time and our money.
