TREES: Corps at root of the problem

Do I have this right? The Army Corps of Engineers wants us to cut down all the trees on the dike road to prevent erosion. 

Cut down trees to prevent erosion? Are these the same guys who tried to dam every free-flowing river in America; and whose dams we are now spending billions to remove? I'd sooner take advice from Bevis & Butthead than this Corps of Geniuses.
