L. Aline Murrell, 90

| February 8, 2012 9:00 PM

Lenora Aline Murrell, 90, resident of Hayden, was called home to be with her Lord on Feb. 1, 2012. Aline was born Aug. 12, 1921, in Gowan, Okla., to Edward and Mamie Cothran. She attended schools in the Muskogee, Okla., area before marrying the late Wilburn (Webb) Murrell in 1938.

They spent their early married life around the oil fields from Texas to California where Webb was employed. They moved to Hayden Lake the first time in 1950 after discovering the beautiful Coeur d'Alene area when on vacation. The winters here were a little overwhelming, so they moved to California. But the beauty of the lakes and rivers and the fish that lived there tugged at their hearts. They moved back again in 1961, to Post Falls this time, to stay.

Besides being a very devoted mother teaching her children the benefits of hard work and being respectful, Aline was also a good business woman. She assisted her husband in their cattle business for many years. She was a Post Falls Grange member and she and Webb loved to dance.

Aline was preceded in death by her husband, Webb, in 1981. She never remarried. Her children that have passed before her include her daughter, Lavern; son Larry in 1968; son Tony in 2009 and daughter Vida Everett in 2011. Also passing before her were her parents; sisters, Reba Cothran of Fort Worth, Texas, Lavern Cothran of Oklahoma and Wanda Cothran of Muskogee, Okla. Also deceased are brothers, Buck, Tommy and Lonnie Cothran, all of Oklahoma.

She is survived by three sons, Charles Murrell (Wanda) of Rathdrum, James Floyd (Wanda) of Concho, Ariz., and Don ( Kathy) of Coeur d'Alene; along with 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; sisters, Cleda Owen and Ellen Harris of Oklahoma; brothers, Ed and Leon (Jack) of Oklahoma; plus numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Our sincere thanks go to all the staff at Autumn Haven Assisted Living for their loving care and kindness during her illness in her last years, and also to Applegate Hospice for their diligence and compassion. You are all the best.

The Lord has set you free at last Mama, Mom, Mother. We love you and miss you, but we will see you again soon.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls, with burial following at Evergreen Cemetery. English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
