Snowstorms that hit North Idaho prompted authorities to close the majority of the National Forest to motorized vehicles.
According to a press release, barricades have been placed at trailheads around the county to allow the Kootenai County Groomer Board to groom and maintain the trails for snowmobiles and ATVs.
Snowmobiles and ATVs need to be licensed and have the appropriate groomer sticker attached when on any groomed trail.
"All other vehicles to include UTVs and motor vehicles are prohibited from being on the trails and are subject to a misdemeanor citation or arrest," the release said.
