RATHDRUM — Sophomore guard Tyrel Derrick scored all 12 of his points in the first half as the Hawks defeated the Indians in a nonleague game at Hawk Court.

Lakeland hit six 3-pointers in the first half to take a 39-14 halftime lead.

“We played pretty good defense and created a lot of transition opportunities,” Lakeland coach Dave Stockwell said. “It was a good defensive effort that got us out to a hot start and we kept it up from there.”

Alex Opland had 10 points and six steals and Scott Simpson added seven points and eight rebounds for Lakeland (3-2), which hosts Lewiston on Saturday.
