Coeur d'Alene Sting under-14 girls (Roma): The Sting placed second at the River City Challenge in Spokane last weekend.
The Sting beat FC Spokane 2-1 on Saturday with goals from Kassi Hoots and Madeline Hennig. Later that day Elaine Vedder scored twice, Trisha McDonald once for the Sitng in a 3-1 victory over the Sabers (Trevaskis). On Sunday the Sting defeated the Breakers (Andreas/Anderson) 1-0 with a goal by Madeline Hennig. In the championship game the Sting lost to the Sting (Inter) 2-0.
Sting U9 boys Sounders: The Sting took fourth at the River City Challenge last weekend in Spokane.
The Sting beat Team Wolverines 3-2, on goals by Joseph Sarkis, Logan Robillard and Kimball Waddell. The Sting tied the Strikers Academy (Richter) 1-1. Joseph Sarkis scored for the Sting.
The Sting lost 4-0 to Puma Power, then fell 4-1 to the Strikers Academy (Wolf). Walker Jump scored for the Sting.
JV SOCCER
The Lake City junior varsity boys soccer team defeated the Sandpoint Bulldogs 3-0. Kade Murphry, Devon Hoffman and Garrett Folo all scored for the Timberwolves, and Jared Stone posted the shutout in goal.
The Coeur d'Alene JV boys lost 2-1 to Lakeland last Tuesday. Andrew Nicklay scored for the Vikings.
AAU BASKETBALL
Storm fundraiser Saturday: The North Idaho Storm fourth-grade boys AAU basketball team will hold a car wash fundraiser this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Trading Company store in Post Falls, at the I-90 exit on Seltice Ave.
In addition, there will be hot dogs, drinks, raffle ticket sales and a basketball shooting challenge. Proceeds from this fundraiser will be used for purchasing uniforms for the team.

RATHDRUM PARKS AND RECREATION
Registration for volleyball, soccer and flag football are being accepted through Friday at the Rathdrum Parks and Recreation department.
COEUR d'ALENE RECREATION
This is the final week for registration for the 3- and 4-year-old soccer program sponsored by the Coeur d'Alene Recreation Department. This consists of four one-hour sessions on Saturday mornings.
The Sting Soccer Club will facilitate each Saturday session. First session begins Sept. 15. Cost is $30.
Registration is taking place at the Coeur d'Alene Recreation Department, 710 Mullan Avenue.
