GUNS: Chance for more detail
Judy Francis doubts the facts in “My Opinion” so I respond. I referred to the U.N. Treaty on gun control. Perhaps my mistake was that the treaty is called the U.N. Treaty on Small Arms” — all the guns we citizens use for hunting, personal and business protection.
I apparently made one other mistake, and that is that Stalin only killed a paltry 55 million of his own countrymen! Maybe since the total is smaller, I should embrace him? Are we building for such a tragedy in our country right now?
Listed as is, this treaty is a serious threat to the gun owners of America regardless of how many anti-gunners deny it. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to give more details. All hunters and gun owners should be very vigilant. The meeting Against Small Arms begins in New York City this Monday, Aug. 27. It is directed against the U.S. gun owners. Some of its goals are these 1) Destroy 1 million historic M1 Garands, M1 Carbines and 1911 Colt 45’s 2) Enact tougher licensing requirements (for the U.S.) of course, the U.S. Government is excluded). 3) Confiscate and destroy all “unauthorized” civilian firearms (again government excluded). 4) Ban the trade sale and private ownership of all semi-automatic weapons. 5) Create an International gun registry, setting the stage for full-scale gun confiscation.
This leaves U.S. citizens with absolutely no protection.
Now we learn that the Social Security Administration has purchased 170,000 “hollow point rounds to control seniors in case of problems with Social Security checks.” Is this of any concern to you? When did our government decide to distrust its citizens so much that it is willing to make war on us? (Seen on Drudge)
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to give more details. If you are not concerned, you just don’t know how serious the problem is.
GEORGE W. RODKEY, M.D.
