CLIMATE: Stick with 97.4 percent
Well, I have been busy lately but I thought I would reply to Mr. Mundy and his so-called rebuttal to my letter of Aug. 3.
You say I don’t have an answer to the fact that ice age extension and retreat has happened for millions of years? “Give me an answer and I’ll shut up?” you say.
Well, here is my answer, my Fox News friend. Not one scientist has said that man-made emissions are the ONLY cause of global climate change, but that CO2 is a major factor. Natural changes take tens of thousands of years to happen, and we are doing it to ourselves in a fraction of that time.
From a recent poll of 3,146 climatologists who are active in climate research (Cliff Harris is not one of them), 97.4 percent believe that human activity is a significant factor in changing global temps and climate change. Yes, there are natural factors that change the climate, and have changed it, including the orbit of out planet, cycles of the sun, and so forth. However, none of these LONG TERM cycles explain the short term changes humans are causing.
I’ll go with the 97.4 percent and you can stick with Cliff Harris and the other 2.6 percent wackos and paid big oil scientists. Oh, and Nov. 6 is going to be a long night for you.
“Logical thinkers?” Now that’s really funny.
Now that you have read this you can go back to the Rush Limbaugh show, Hannity, Glen Beck, and Fox News. Careful, you might trip over some facts and hurt yourself.
