Big inning lifts Indians in home finale

SPOKANE - Brandon Garcia and Royce Bolinger each had RBI singles to highlight a five-run fifth inning and the Spokane Indians used only nine hits to beat the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes 10-4 in its Northwest League baseball home finale Sunday night before 6,074 at Avista Stadium.

Bolinger also hit an RBI double in the third, and Joey Gallo hit his fourth home run in the second, a two-run shot off starter Joan Gregorio of Salem-Keizer (16-17 second half).

Spokane starter John Kukuruda went six innings, allowing three earned runs on seven hits while striking out four.

The Indians (14-19) finish up the season with five games at Eugene, starting tonight at 7 p.m.
