POST FALLS - Derek Bayley of Rathdrum parred the first hole of a sudden-death playoff with Zach Wanderscheid of Goldendale, Wash., to win the Pacific Northwest Men's Amateur Public Links Champoinship on Sunday at The Links Golf Club.

Bayley overcame a double bogey on the fourth hole and a quadruple bogey on the 12th with five birdies to shoot a 1-over-par 74 for a two-day total of 145, 1 under par.

Alex Pounds, a University of Idaho golfer who previously played at Coeur d'Alene High and Community Colleges of Spokane, shot 74 and tied for third at 146.

In the Senior Men's division, Bob Christensen of Post Falls shot a 75 for an even-par 146 and a six-stroke victory. Christensen entered the final round in a tie for first place with Larry Daniels of Seattle, but Daniels was forced to withdraw with a shoulder injury, clearing the way for Christensen, the defending champion.

Maddie Dodge of Post Falls tied for eighth with a 78-80-158.
