Country concert for a cause kicks off tonight

SANDPOINT - Award-winning country music singer, Thom Shepherd will hit the stage at the Ponderay Garden Center as part of, "Concerts for a Cause" - a concert series sponsored by Horizon Bank and the Ponderay Garden Center.

Shepherd, a nationally touring singer based out of Austin, Texas, has written more than 10 hit singles including: "Redneck Yacht Club" and "Riding with Private Malone."

He has more than 90 cuts by artists including Easton Corbin, Colt Ford, George Jones and Bucky Covington, to name a few.

The show kicks off at 5 tonight at the Ponderay Garden Center, just north of Walmart on U.S. Highway 95 in Ponderay. Opening band, Bennie and Bonnie will take the stage at 5 p.m., followed by Thom Shepherd at 7 p.m.

Tickets are free but donations are accepted to benefit the Friends of the Pend d'Oreille Bay Trail.
