SCHOOLS: 'Yes' for many reasons
Why vote yes for the Coeur d’Alene School District Bond on August 28th? Many sound reasons exist. Vote yes for the kids who attend Borah, Bryan, Sorensen, Winton, and Canfield; they deserve schools built to educate them in the 21st century. Vote yes because passing the school bond makes economical sense. Because the Lake City High School bond and KTEC levy taxes expire this year, this bond will maintain, not increase, your current tax rate. It will not raise your taxes!
Additionally, at no time in recent history have both construction costs and interest rates been lower. Vote yes because the Coeur d’Alene School District is a strong steward of your money. Of the 13 largest districts in Idaho, its tax rate is the lowest, and it boasts some of the highest test scores in the state. Vote yes to stimulate our local economy and create jobs right here in Coeur d’Alene.
Vote yes; your positive vote is the only way for a school district to construct and renovate its school buildings — your state government provides zero funding in this area. Please vote yes. It is the right choice right now.
