SCHOOLS: Give the portables to Charter

| August 22, 2012 9:15 PM

Coeur d’Alene School District has 50 portables to dispose of with the passage of the August 28th TAX Bond. In order for the district to begin building all the new gymnasiums in their plan, they will need to relocate those portable classrooms. I suggest they take them over to the Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy. I trust they will ensure rooms are safe for students, and not waste tax dollars.

Since Cd’A district is suggesting the portables have “air quality” issues they are not going to be able to sell them ... unless this is just a ploy to get taxpayers emotionally involved in supporting the bond. Why would any school open the doors to children to a schoolroom where the air quality is unsafe? It’s a hook to get you to buy in to supporting more taxes.

Demolishing the administrative office is no small feat, considering there isn’t a published plan to relocate staff. Office space will cost taxpayers plenty over the next few years — oh, but LCDC will help cover the costs with reduced rents in the education corridor. READ THE FINE PRINT first on the district website, then watch for reports in the paper later.
