Dwight Scott Hamilton, 72
Dwight Scott Hamilton, 72, of Rosburg, Wash., passed away Aug. 7, 2012, at his home. He was born May 1, 1940, in New York City, N.Y., to parents, Dwight and Helen (Scott) Hamilton.
He gradated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1958 and from EWU in 1976. Dwight married Kathy Ingalls on March 12, 1969. She survives him at home. He spent three years in the Army serving in Korea. He worked in masonry restoration with his dad in New York City, moving to Idaho to work in the same business. He also was a building inspector for several years before he began full time “Mr. Mom,” doing private land development until 2004 when he moved to Altoona Pillar Rock.
Dwight was compassionate, loving, kind, an animal lover, with many “adopted” children and a tender heart. He also enjoyed being with his family, fishing, reading sci-fi, remodeling, woodworking, travel and exploring.
Dwight is also survived by his daughters, Heather McBride and Samantha Hamilton; two brothers, Bob and George Hamilton; a sister, Carol Namchuk; three granddaughters, Marina, Ann and Bella McBride; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 812 N. Fifth, Coeur d’Alene. Dowling Funeral Home, Longview, Wash., is in charge of the arrangements.
