Angels snap 4-game losing streak

Mark Trumbo hit his career-high 30th homer, Ervin Santana pitched 6 1/3 solid innings and the visiting Los Angeles Angels snapped a four-game losing streak with a 5-3 win over the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night.

Mike Trout had two hits, giving him 139 in the first 100 games of his rookie season, the most since 1964 when Tony Oliva had 144 for Minnesota. But his streak of 30 successful stolen base attempts ended in the eighth when Jarrod Saltalamacchia threw him out at second base on a pitchout.

Orioles 5, Rangers 3: At Arlington, Texas, Nate McLouth's two-run home run keyed Baltimore's four-run fifth inning and the Orioles beat Texas.

White Sox 7, Yankees 3: Kevin Youkilis hit a grand slam, Paul Konerko homered and Dewayne Wise had four hits as Chicago rallied past visiting New York.

Tigers 5, Blue Jays 3: Max Scherzer struck out eight in seven impressive innings, leading Detroit past visiting Toronto.

Royals 1, Rays 0, 10 inn.: At St. Petersburg, Fla., Eric Hosmer's two-out single in the 10th drove in the only run in Kansas City's victory over Tampa Bay in a classic pitchers' duel between the Royals' Luke Hochevar and the Rays' David Price.

Athletics 4, Twins 1: Brett Anderson pitched seven solid innings and host Oakland turned a triple play in a victory over Minnesota.

Reds 5, Phillies 4: Zack Cozart hit a tiebreaking homer in the ninth and Cincinnati won at Philadelphia.

Rockies 6, Mets 2: Jhoulys Chacin made an impressive return from an extended absence and Colorado backed him with a pair of sharp defensive plays in a win at New York.

Chacin had not pitched in the majors since May 1 because of inflammation in his right shoulder.

Nationals 4, Braves 1: Stephen Strasburg struck out 10 batters and Washington beat visiting Atlanta.

Marlins 6, Diamondbacks 5, 10 inn.: At Phoenix, Giancarlo Stanton hit a run-scoring single in the 10th and Miami rallied past Arizona.

Cardinals 7, Astros 0: Adam Wainwright matched his career high with 12 strikeouts and St. Louis beat visiting Houston.

Giants 4, Dodgers 1: Tim Lincecum pitched effectively into the sixth and San Francisco won at Los Angeles.

Brewers 5, Cubs 2: Marco Estrada allowed two hits in six solid innings to lead Milwaukee past visiting Chicago.

Padres 7, Pirates 5, 10 inn.: Late
