Phillip A. Nelson, 77

Phillip A. Nelson was welcomed to his eternal home by his Heavenly Father on August 14, 2012. He was born in Coeur d’Alene August 16, 1934.

Phil moved to Kennewick as a child and graduated from Kennewick High School in 1953. He married his high school sweet heart Carolyn Sachse in 1954.

Phil worked as a mechanic for 36 years at Hi-Land garage retiring in 1994. He loved spending time with family and friends camping, fishing and hunting. His favorite spot was along the Tucannon River.

He is preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Hazel (Smith) Nelson, also a sister and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Carolyn Nelson; his four children Ken (Barb) Nelson, Rick Nelson, Kathy (Phillip) Fowler, Carol (David) Ard; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sisters Polly Koepp and Sheila Nelson.

A graveside service will be on Saturday, Aug. 18, 10:00 a.m., at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 1401 S. Union St. Kennewick. There will be a celebration of life luncheon following the service at 1727 W. 27th Ave, Kennewick.
