Brewfest begins today at Silver Mountain

KELLOGG - The 19th Annual Brewfest at Silver Mountain Resort is scheduled today and Saturday.

It will feature live musical performances by five bands and 19 regional micro breweries representing more than 35 delicious beverages.

The festival kicks off when the gates open at 5:30 p.m. Friday. Mark Hummel and the Blues Survivors will take the stage at 6 p.m. and will be followed by Serbian blues sensation Ana Popovic. Special guest guitarist Steve Freund will perform with Mark Hummel.

Advance tickets for Friday's show are on sale at a discounted rate of $22.95. All attendees older than 21 years of age will get four taste tickets to sample product from the four micro breweries that will be featured Friday evening.

In addition, the Friday night Ride & Dine barbecue will be available from 2-8 p.m. A special package price of $39.95 is being offered for the gondola ride, barbecue and the festival concert.

The festival continues on Saturday with three outstanding musical artists - The Simon Tucker Group, Big Mumbo Blues Band and the dynamic duo of Peter Karp/Sue Foley who are touring the Northwest to promote their critically acclaimed new CD, "Beyond the Crossroads."

Gates open at 1 p.m. Saturday, and advance tickets for Saturday's show are on sale now at a discounted rate of $29.95. All Saturday's festival attendees older than 21 years old receive six taste tickets for beverages from the 19 breweries currently scheduled to attend.

A weekend pass for both days can be purchased for $45.
