Indians finally figure out AquaSox
SPOKANE — Ryan Rua walked with one out in the ninth inning and came around to score when Saquan Johnson was hit by a pitch as the Spokane Indians beat the Everett AquaSox 6-5 in Northwest League play Tuesday night in front of 5,983 at Avista Stadium.
Preston Beck went 3 for 4 with a double and run scored for Spokane (9-12 second half), which had lost the first three games of the series. Former Gonzaga standout Royce Bolinger went 3 for 5 for Spokane, which finished 1 for 13 with runners in scoring position.
After trailing 4-2, Spokane tied the game in the sixth on an error, allowing Beck and Barrett Serrato to score.
Everett (9-12) regained the lead in the seventh as Alfredo Morales homered to right field for a 5-4 advantage. Garia singled to score Johnson with the tying run in the eighth.
The teams conclude their five-game series tonight at 6:30 at Avista Stadium.
