Early voting available for upcoming school levy election
COEUR d'ALENE - In-person absentee voting is now available for the Aug. 28 school levy elections, the Kootenai County clerk announced on Monday.
Voters who live in school districts with questions on the ballot can vote at the county Elections Office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. The office is at 1808 N. Third St. in Coeur d'Alene.
In-person voting started on Monday and continues through Friday, Aug. 24.
The election includes a $32.7 million bond levy question for Coeur d'Alene School District 271; a $2 million bond levy question for Kootenai Joint School District 274; and a plant facility levy question for Lakeland Joint School District 272 for $800,000 each year for 5 years.
Only voters in those school districts are affected by the election.
Requests for mailed absentee ballots are available at the county's website: www.kcgov.us/elections/AbsenteeBallotApplication.pdf.

Absentee ballot requests can be mailed, faxed or delivered to the Elections Office, with a request deadline of Aug. 22.
