Dorothy Lee Freeman, 56
On Friday, July 20, 2012, after succumbing to an aggressive illness, Dorothy Lee Freeman passed away. She was born in Longview, Wash., on May 25, 1956, to Kenneth Freeman and Nancy (Reed) Freeman.
Dot loved to travel, recently visiting the Utah Moab area, and loved to frequent the Oregon coast. Dot energized everyone she knew, and she had no problem starting conversations with complete strangers. More than an independent free spirit, Dot knew the value of life and family, and she celebrated everyday to the fullest. Dot loved her work with victims counseling both in Bonner County and Coeur d’Alene, and she was excited about her recent work in Clarkston, Wash. Dot loved to write children’s poetry. She amazingly had most of her whimsical poems memorized and would eagerly recite them anytime. She loved to read science-fiction, and Dot couldn’t wait to go to the cinema at any opportunity. Dot would try new food recipes and frequently test them on family members.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thoren and Sara Teel of Post Falls; her daughter and son-in-law, Kelly Clark-Franqui and Harry Franqui; granddaughter Annaliese; grandsons, Esteban and Harry Jr. of Spokane; sister Lois Schneide of Sandpoint; brothers, Leonard Butler and Gerald Butler of Clark Fork; Uncle Al and Aunt Louise Austin of Clarkston.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A gathering in memory of Dot and her sister Donna Harp, who passed April 29, 2012, will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at Falls Parks in Post Falls.
