M's top pick homers

SPOKANE - Mike Zunino, the third pick overall in this year's Major League Baseball Draft by the Seattle Mariners, hit a three-run homer in the top of the seventh inning as the Everett AquaSox beat the Spokane Indians 6-5 in Northwest League play on Saturday in front of 5,899 at Avista Stadium.

Zunino's homer - his ninth of the season, was one of four hits on the night as he drove in four runs for Everett (8-11).

Cam Schiller went 3 for 4 with a home run for Spokane (8-11).

The teams continue their five-game series tonight at 6:30 at Avista Stadium.
